Seven Day Blue Ridge Trip - July 26, 2014
On Saturday July 26, 2014 eleven bikes headed out on a long ride. Six of the riders were only going to ride to Asheville, NC but the other five bikes were in it for the long haul which ended up being very close to 1900 miles. On the second morning Ed, Moochie, Charles, Greg, Terry and Jim turned back toward Alabama. Danny/Lynda, Buford/Donna, JR/DeAnn, Jerry/Charlotte and Ronny/Judy began our great adventure as we turned our bikes toward the Blue Ridge Mountains. We rode the entire Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive, stopping at most overlooks and investigating interesting sites along the way. On our route home, in the middle of nowhere we had one bike that broke down. We were told that there was no cell phone service in that area because the town was in an argument with ATT about a cell tower! When a rollback was located and that bike was on the way to a repair shop, we were on the road again. After getting scared by fighter jets practicing maneuvers and getting LOST, we met Steve (an unknown biker). We were so thankful to Steve for leading us to our hotel and for his helpful information! We spent another fun evening with our friends, sharing good food and lots of laughs! The next morning after the bike was repaired we hit the road again. We were on the road for seven fun and memory-filled days. What a GREAT trip! Since I have about 2000 pictures, I have to pick only highlights to post on this website. We hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed the trip!
