October 30, 2016 Jean's on the River
It's hard to believe that tomorrow is Halloween and today it was 87°. The perfect day for a ride to Jean's on the River in Cordova, Alabama for lunch. The group of friends that went included: Ronny & Judy, Jerry & Charlotte, Charlie & Linda, Danny & Lynda, JR & DeAnn, Charles & Sheila, Craig and Bill. Of course, after enjoying a delicious lunch, we just had to spend the afternoon riding. We had a great day! Lots of fun and laughter...
October 15, 2016 Granny Fishes again!
Great day for fishing, frog-gigging or shrimping - OR maybe we should just ride back to Granny Fishes House in TN. We knew that we could be there by lunch and we knew that they were already decorated for Halloween. So why not? We got the gang together and headed out from Bojangles in Cullman. Those riding today were: Jerry & Charlotte, Ed & Nancy, Moochie, David, JR & DeAnn, Charles & Sheila, Ronny & Judy, Greg and Terry. Bill rode for a couple of hours with us but then he turned back. Granny Fishes was just as interesting and delicious as every other time that we have been there. We just LOVE Granny Fishes House and always enjoy our dining experience. The food is ALWAYS delicious! We are already planning to return after Thanksgiving to see the Christmas decorations!
September 11, 2016 Childersburg, AL.
Another great day with friends out enjoying the beautiful weather and countryside. Today there were 8 bikes with 11 riders. Ronny/Judy, Charlie/Linda, Danny/Lynda, Ed, Moochie, Roger, Terry and Bill made our way to Childersburg, AL to eat lunch at Los Poblanos, which is a Mexican restaurant featuring a DELICIOUS buffet. If you are ever in the area, check them out. After lunch we took a different route which included riding up on Chandler Mountain where we stopped at a little roadside produce stand to buy fruits and vegetables. Even after eating a big lunch, I saw several guys eating apples before getting back on the bikes. We visited Eagle Vision Cycles Store before we got off the mountain. Then on to Blountsville where we made our "ice cream" stop of the day. As you have probably noticed, we do a lot of eating! Live to Ride, Ride to Eat!!!
September 3, 2016 Proffitt's Porch in Columbus, MS
Today we made our second trip to Proffitt's Porch in Columbus, MS. There were seven bikes. Those riding were: Ronny, Judy, JR, DeAnn, Greg, Karen, Jerry, Charlotte, Bill, Craig, Donna, Charles and Sheila. The food was just as good as it was the first time and the hummingbirds were still visiting the porch. A special highlight to this trip was that the owner of the restaurant came out with binoculars for us to use to view the Bald Eagle that inhabits the immediate area. Of course our last stop of the day was Jack's in Double Springs, AL. This last stop is special because this is when we get our ice cream and HUGS! We are so thankful for the beautiful weather today and our wonderful friends!

July 2, 2016 Shaffer's Meat Market & Texas Barbecue
We knew it was going to be HOT but 12 riders decided to go anyway! Those braving the heat today were: Ronny & Judy, Charlie & Linda, Jerry & Charlotte, Bill, Terry, Jim, David, Bobby and Craig. We left from Bojangles in Cullman and rode north in search of some shady roads and a good lunch. We found some nice shady roads and beautiful scenery on CR 400 riding along beside the Tennessee River. After crossing the Wheeler Dam we came to Elgin and on to Rogersville. Then on to Hwy 207 and to Pulaski. From Pulaski we took CR166 through Campbellsville and then turned on Rhea Road through Amish country and to Hwy 43 and the Shaffer's Meat Market & Texas Barbecue. We had to wait in a LONG line but there was plenty of things to look at while we slowly moved toward the ordering counter. It was very good and worth the wait! I would suggest getting there earlier next time BUT we have to remember this was a beautiful holiday weekend and a Saturday at noon! The ride home was a little bit hotter. Just when we were getting HOT there appeared a Jack's where we knew they had ICE CREAM! The perfect refreshment to take us the rest of the way home. Great day, Great Friends and a Great Ride! Looking forward to the next time :)
May 14, 2016 The Outpost in Savannah, TN.
The weatherman predicted a beautiful, warm Saturday so we decided to make a 130 mile ride to eat lunch at The Outpost in Savannah, TN. Nine bikes with fourteen riders left Bojangles in Cullman. At our first rest stop several of the riders took off their jackets. We hadn't gotten very far down the road when a cold front moved in. It became overcast, very windy and the temperature dropped. When we made our next stop, everyone was grabbing jackets and looking for gloves, etc. We weren't very far from our destination at that point. The Outpost was a very interesting place with plenty of things to grab our attention. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious! This place is definitely on our "go back to" list. On our ride home we found some enjoyable roads with beautiful scenery. Of course, our last stop was an ice cream stop. Today was a wonderful day spent with our friends. Love, Love, Love all of your smiling faces. Until next time... :)

April 17, 2016 Another Sunny Sonic Sunday Afternoon Ride
WOW! Eleven bikes and several surprise riders (some were old friends that we haven't seen in a while and others were new friends that we just hadn't met yet! We rode about 175 miles and really didn't go anywhere but it was GREAT! It was a beautiful day and we were even able to ride without coats. I hope everyone enjoyed the day as much as I did.

Saturday - April 2, 2016 - Fayette, AL
Seven bikes left Bojangles headed for Sam's Smoke House in Fayette, AL. Those riding today were: Ed, Charles, Jerry/Charlotte, Bill, Ronnie Todd, Charlie/Linda and Ronny/Judy. I didn't take as many pictures as usual but I took more than I thought I did. I just can't seem to pass up the barns, old houses, churches, nature scenes and country life. We had a great ride and enjoyable day which turned out to be (in the words of Winnie the Pooh) quite "blustery"! Even though the wind was blowing and it was chilly, we were outdoors sharing the beauty of God's world with awesome friends. That always makes for a wonderful day!

Saturday - March 25, 2016
What a beautiful day for a ride! One of those "well, we were going to go here" BUT " instead, we are going to go there" days! Lol Sometimes those are the best rides. As they say: It's not the destination but the journey! Our journeys are most always fun and interesting. Today was no different. We rode some new roads, saw some beautiful scenery and interesting things. One of the most unusual things I saw today was a peacock standing in a yard. We saw some beautiful homes and met the protective dogs that lived there. We saw an awesome waterfall on Yellow Creek. We could only view it from a distance since it is privately owned. I can't even imagine owning a huge waterfall! We almost made friends with a cow that had gotten out of the pasture and didn't really know what to do with nine motorcycles riding past. We safely made it through Collinsville flea market traffic, all the animals in the road, those horseshoe curves, all those smelly chicken houses and ten drops of rain! Of course, our last stop was Jack's in Snead for ice cream. I tried the "Yellow Brick Road" and it was delicious! Can't wait for the next ride...

Sunny Sunday Sonic Afternoon - February 28, 2016
Only 5 bikes left Sonic today on a sunny afternoon ride. We just never know what we will find when we set out on an adventure but it is ALWAYS enjoyable! We rode some unfamiliar roads and only had to turn around once. On that turn-around Ed got to pet a donkey. We took a short hike to see a "Natural Bridge" in Bankhead Forest. If riding through a forest fire is on your bucket list - you can cross that one off. If it wasn't on your list, then add it to the bottom and cross it off! It was a beautiful day for a ride and we had a great one...

Saturday, February 20, 2016 - We left Bojangles in Cullman at 8:00 AM. Our destination today was Granny Fishes House in War Trace, TN. Sorry, I didn't take any pictures today. I had my camera with me but never took it out of the saddlebags. It was cloudy and cold and my fingers didn't want to come out of my gloves. If you have never been to Granny Fishes House you can scroll down to see pictures from the first time that we ate there. Only problem with that is that you can't smell or taste the delicious food. We ended up with only 6 bikes today (Ronny & Judy, Jerry & Charlotte, Ed, Charles, Jim and Terry). Even though we were a little chilly and slightly damp a couple of times, we still had a great ride! Part of the fun of biking is experiencing the different seasons & weather. How boring it would be if every ride was "sunny and 75"!
January 31, 2016 - Edna's Family Restaurant in Summertown, TN.
Fifteen of us went on a "cool" ride today. Yep, it was quite cool today! It wouldn't have been too bad if the wind hadn't been blowing so hard. Even though one of the roads that we had planned to take had a bridge out and we had to detour via a dirt road, we adjusted the route and made it to Edna's Family Restaurant in Summertown, Tennessee for lunch. After a tasty lunch we headed toward home enjoying some of the beautiful Tennessee countryside. With Ronny leading today, of course our last stop was Dairy Queen in Hartselle. So, as they say "It turned out to be a pretty good day".
December 5, 2015
It's that time of the year when some of the guys start suffering from "PMS" (Parked Motorcycle Syndrome) so seven of them headed out in the freezing temperatures for a ride early on this Saturday morning. These brave riders were: Ed, Ronny, JR, Charlie, Bill, Charles and Jerry. Ronny said that he got really cold when he passed Wallace State College and the sign showed 29*. After warming up with a biscuit & coffee, etc. at Bojangles they headed out for the day. Not having a particular destination in mind, I was told that their plan was to ride to a fork in the road and take it! It must have been a good decision because I heard that they had a very good ride. Lunch was at the Old Delina Country Store in "Somewhere in the middle of Nowhere" Tennessee! Ed shared these pictures of the day. Glad that you guys enjoyed the day :)
October 24, 2015
It's FALL y'all! Nine riders on five bikes headed out this morning in search of beautiful colored leaves. We really weren't expecting rain for a couple of days but SURPRISE - we found fome but we didn't let that ruin our day. I like to think of these little drops as "liquid sunshine". We actually did find some colored leaves and a great restaurant that we have put on the "definitely go back to" list. As we rode through Lynchburg, TN we were glad that we weren't going to be in the crowd there for the barbecue cook-off. $10 for parking and that didn't even include a sandwich! No thanks! We just kept riding until we got to an "out of the way" restaurant called Granny Fishes House. It was awesome! I had already read reviews so I knew to order the child's fried fish fillet plate with a baked potato and Granny's coleslaw. I have never seen hushpuppies almost the size of tennis balls until today. They were delicious! We were all so full that we didn 't even order any of their homemade fried apple or peach pies. We will definitely get some of those next time. The people were very friendly and accommodating and the place was all decorated for Halloween. Granny Fishes House is listed as being in War Trace, TN. If you know where that is, you definitely need to eat there! Another fun day...
February 7, 2015 The weathermen were right! It was a beautiful day to get outside and enjoy a ride with some friends. At 10:00 AM (after it had warmed up a little) Ed, Terry, JR & DeAnn, Craig & Donna and Ronny & I left the Sonic in Cullman headed to the Catfish Cabin in Albertville. Charles was meeting us there for lunch. After a delicious meal we checked out some roads in the area. Of course, this meant giving the universal "turn around" signal once. But as you can see in the pictures, we saw some beautiful homes and one quite unusual home that included a lighthouse. Even though we had to make our way back home before it got late and COLD we still made our mandatory Dairy Queen stop! It was a great day but I can't wait until it gets warmer so we can ride without being so bundled up that we can hardly move! ;)
